It’s More Than Speaking in Tongues 2/06/2024
“The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.” Isaiah 11:2(NKJV)
I want to prelude everything with this thought. To understand the Holy Ghost, we first must understand that He is HOLY! And can only dwell in a vessel that is Holy. It doesn’t mean that we do not mess up, but if we aren’t being convicted by Him then He must not be dwelling. You can say “Well I fell Him in service or when I pray.” I would say that if He isn’t convicting you then He is only visiting not dwelling. (John 16:8) This isn’t condemnation, this is pointing us back to the Father. We cannot be deceived in this area (Galatians 6:9). Salvation is free. Our lives have to produce fruits. That is why learning about The Holy Ghost is so necessary.
So now that we have that outta the way, lets understand this person called the Holy Ghost. He grants us the access to Kingdom wisdom, Kingdom understanding, Kingdom counsel, Kingdom fortitude (courage), Kingdom knowledge, Kingdom piety (reverence) and Kingdom Fear of the Lord. Allowing Him to work in us then produces the fruit of the Spirit. Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control and against such there is no law! (Galatians 5:22&23) The “no law” part is a lot to break down in a later blog.
So, this must be walked out. This must be lived. We cannot be who we used to be. We have to allow Him to make us born again, new in Him, in spirit. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) You are not who you used to be. You are not what the voices say you are. You are a new creation. You are becoming everything God designed you to be. You will accomplish exactly what God wants you to accomplish.
This is the work of the Holy Ghost. To convict, to grant wisdom, to produce fruit. When we don’t understand Him and only want Him for His power, then we miss all the benefits He is suppose to grant. Which is becoming more and more like Jesus. Producing the very characteristics of God! Then and only then will you truly unlock the full power that is the Holy Ghost. Don’t let modern Christianity ruin what is the gift from Heaven. “But as He who called you is Holy, you also be Holy in all your conduct since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:15-16 (ESV) So, be encouraged today!! YOU ARE A WORK IN PROGRESS!
